OFF-ICE PERFORMANCE TRAINING starts March 16th
This program is designed for young Mites to experience the importance of functional fitness while working on their skating and hockey skills during the off-season. Our programs are designed to integrate the mind and body, shaping young athletes and empowering individuals to explore the bravery and confidence that dynamic training incorporates.
Dates: Monday Evenings
Starting March 16th through April 20th
Times: 5:45pm to 6:15pm Mites Fitness Class
6:15pm to 6:30pm Dress to Skate
6:30pm to 7:15pm Mites Skate Class
Cost: $125 Skate, $75 Fitness

Often during daily-life we choose movement strategies to accomplish a task that can be inefficient or predispose a muscle or joint to injury. These incorrect movement patterns can lead to muscle imbalances and increased stress on certain joints. A muscle imbalance occurs when muscle tension increases in a certain area causing weakness in others. By identifying these movement pattern dysfunctions early, we are able to "pre-hab" or proactively correct these dysfunctions to decrease the likelihood of injury occurring. While a proactive approach takes much less time and costs less money than is does to treat and rehabilitate an injury, it also means you won't miss valuable time training, playing, or working due to injury.
A functional movement assessment is designed to evaluate the quality of several "movement patterns" and to identify movement dysfunctions that may exist. The goal of this assessment is to identify areas of weakness or compensation as you perform each movement. We are then able to design customized programs, that include corrective exercises, tailored to the needs of each individual to achieve their maximum potential!

Athletic Performance Training at the Hut
Our athletic performance programs are designed to provide athletes with individualized attention, while maintaining the team building and motivational components present in a team environment. Athletes are evaluated using a Functional Movement Screen, allowing us to better understand the individual needs of each athlete, reducing the chance of injury and enhancing their athletic performance.
Our programs combine all aspects of training including strength, speed, mental toughness, injury reduction, reactive change of direction, and conditioning, designed to maximize athletic potential.

Each workout will contain a combination of strength, speed and conditioning training, while maintaining a focus on proper technique and execution of basic movements. As athletes become more familiar with proper form and learn to master these basic movements, athletes will be presented with more challenging progressions. Each session will being with a proper warmup, followed by speed acceleration and plyometric training. The heart of the session will focus on power and strength movements, designed to maximize in-season performance. The workout will conclude with sport-specific conditioning, tailored to both the athlete's sport of choice and whether the athlete is in or out of season.
* Injury Reduction - Functional Movement Screen to help identify imbalances and power leaks to maximize training progression based programming
* Speed/Acceleration - Deceleration, linear, lateral movements, running mechanics, change of direction and footwork
* Power - Plyometrics, Olympic lifts, landing mechanics, jumping and throwing
* Strength - Basic strength movements, functional strength, squat, press, pull, hip hinge and core training
